Privacy Policy
Effective August 4, 2026
ScopeSign (“ScopeSign,” “we,” “us”) is operated by E Marketing Solutions LLC, New York, NY. ScopeSign helps contractors get change orders reviewed and signed by their customers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the ScopeSign mobile apps, the signature pages, and scopesignapp.com.
1. Information we collect
From contractors (account holders): name, company name, email, phone number, company logo, and subscription status. Payment for subscriptions is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your card number.
About your customers (entered by the contractor): customer name, mobile phone number, preferred language, and optionally email — used solely to deliver change orders on the contractor’s behalf.
Change order content: descriptions, prices, line items, job photos, and notes created by the contractor.
Signature records: when a customer signs, we record the drawn signature image, signer name, date and time, the signer’s IP address and device type, and the approximate location of the contractor’s device at creation. This information exists to make the signed document verifiable — that is the product.
Usage and device data: basic app analytics, crash logs, and device identifiers used to operate and improve the service.
2. How we use it
To create and deliver change orders by SMS; to record signatures and generate PDF documents; to send status notifications; to provide reminders the contractor schedules; to operate, secure, and improve the service; and to comply with law. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customer phone numbers for marketing.
3. Text messages
Customers receive SMS about a specific change order from the contractor they hired, including approval requests, reminders, and a copy of signed documents. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further texts; the contractor is notified so they can reach you another way.
4. Who we share with
Service providers who help us run ScopeSign: cloud hosting and database, SMS delivery carriers and providers, subscription management, and analytics/crash reporting. Each processes data only to provide their service to us. We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a business transfer. Signed documents are shared with the parties to that document — the contractor and their customer.
5. Retention
Signed change orders are legal records between a contractor and their customer; we retain them until the account owner deletes them or closes the account. Drafts and unsigned items can be deleted at any time in the app. Account deletion requests: email us and we’ll complete deletion within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal compliance.
6. Notice to California residents
Under the CCPA/CPRA, the categories we collect are: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP), commercial information (change orders, subscription status), visual/electronic information (photos, signature images), geolocation (approximate, at document creation), and device/usage data. We collect them for the purposes above, share them only with the service providers listed, and we do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not in the preceding 12 months. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where legally required. California residents may exercise the rights below via email; you may use an authorized agent.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California and the EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contractors can exercise these in-app or by email. If you’re a contractor’s customer, you can contact us directly or ask your contractor; we’ll assist either way. We honor verifiable requests within the timeframes required by law, and we don’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Security and breach notice
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Signature records are immutable once created — they cannot be edited by anyone, including us, which protects both parties to the document. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as required by applicable law.
9. International users
ScopeSign is operated from the United States and data is processed on U.S. servers. If you use the service from outside the U.S., you consent to that transfer. Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and consent where required.
10. Children
ScopeSign is for business use and not directed to anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes
We’ll post any changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email.
